Makaimura ( Ghosts'n Goblins ) Arcade Japanese Revision G - 1LC ( 1 Life Clear ) no miss 1CC 8-5
Update:
Oto opis filmiku:
- I am proud to present a 1LC (no deaths!) for the Japanese version of Makaimura (Revision G).
This run was accomplished on February 14, 2014. Best Valentine's Day ever! :) This run was played on my Japanese arcade machine on default game settings, and video was taken via a direct feed.
This is Japanese Revision G, which I think is the most fair version of the game. This can be considered the definitive version, as it seems to be the last version Capcom made, and it also seems to be what the PS2 version was based on. It is still not an easy nut to crack by any means. They simply nerfed the stage 5 and 6 bosses so that it isn't based on luck anymore. However, the game is still incredibly random. My most hated area now is Stage 4 (on second loop and beyond). The lava bridge is pure pain on these loops. If you get to the flying dragon boss at the end with full health, it isn't too bad, but having to then kill the boss with the cross without taking a hit requires very good luck so you can get a good flying pattern.
This is a really really tough game to crack on your own. Unlike my other videos (which are mostly my own strategies), I used mostly strategies I learned from watching various superplays online, as well as ones I came up with. No one superplay had a perfect run, however, all of them had a nice technique to offer somewhere. I really think I nailed this game down, and I'm quite happy about the strategies I've used. I think I now have a good strategy for every Red Arremer, which are the hardest enemies of this game.
Besides just trying to beat the game (2 loops!) using 1 life, I also played out the entirety of my credit to see how long I could last. I ended up getting a game over on 8-5. (yes, I beat the game 7 times on one credit!)
Several loops in I start to get a little sloppy...I am convinced I can get much further, it's just hard to focus for that long.
The loops do get harder and harder...I'm not really sure if/when the difficulty caps out. I think loops 4 and beyond are all the same, but I'm not sure how one would test that. I could be wrong though...some of those later loops seem pretty glitchy and chaotic. Also, the game stops giving you extra lives at 1 million points.
This is the second game in the ghouls series that I've cleared on 1 life! Next up I hope to master either Super Ghouls'n Ghosts (SNES) or Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins (PSP).
The key to beating arcade games in this manner is to just keep practicing, but not enough to burn yourself out. I put in a couple credits a day for several months to pull this off, except for a few parts (stages 5 and 6 require a LOT of practice to really nail down!) that require a lot more dedication.
Hope you guys enjoy! If you want more, please watch my other videos, including Daimakaimura (Ghouls'n Ghosts), also beaten on 1 life!
